Bisson
& Shepard from PS

Terry Bisson's Dear
Abbey answers questions about
the end of the world.

I may have missed a PS title
or two, a situation I intend to correct
directly. If you have, then you should as well.
However, here are two that one should definitely
not miss. Above, exhibit 1, is Terry Bisson's
latest release, 'Dear Abbey'. Two time travelers
step through all our tomorrows; but you know
that Bisson has something up his sleeve. You'll
have to read the novella to find out what,
precisely, the Presto! will be. Remember too,
that this is the most bootlegged man on the
Internet. His short story, 'They're Made of
Meat' is without doubt the most sent round,
unattributed enjoyably hilarious short story
ever written. Period. Had he been paid a penny
per copy, he'd own the continent of North
America now. Consider you purchase of this book
your rent, even if you don't live in North
America. He does.

Lucius Shepard is finding
things in the river. Unpleasant
things.

We all know what a floater
is. The less said -- or smelled -- or seen --
the better. But too-talented-for-his-own-good
writer Lucius Shepard is willing to show us all
this and more. His latest find him returning to
the voodoo-inspired literature that he broke
ground with back in the Ace Special days with
"Green Eyes'. Always appropriately apocalyptic,
Shepard never disappoints. And by the way, I'm
still waiting for the Ridley Scott version of
either 'The Man Who Painted the Dragon Griaule'
or 'The Golden'. See? I'm easy. but you know, I
can't waste too much time on movies these days,
so they'd better be good, and not some recycled
cyber-bilge.
