A Graphic Review
of American Splendor: Our Movie Year

The best stories in here are the most quotidian. I love that word! It means everyday, ordinary. But damn is it highfalutin'. As a critic, I have to present my highfalutin' credentials or else I won’t be taken seriously. I loved the story where Harvey couldn't figure out how to open his gas door to refill the tank on his car. That happened to me once, but I didn’t have to call the dealer. I told my wife and kids all about that story.
